Welcome to the 2015 Natick Innovation & Learning Summit and the Natick Wellness Summit!

DATE: Monday, November 30th, 2015 from 8 AM - 3 PM at Natick High School.
Natick High School is located at 15 West St. Natick, MA 01760

This year we will host over 850 educators and hold over 130 workshop sessions that are facilitated by expert practitioners on the tools, resources and instructional practices that Natick educators have requested.  All sessions are tagged by level and target audience to help you choose the best sessions for your interest and skill level.

This year is extra special because we are joining with the Natick Wellness Summit which has been designed to nurture the interdisciplinary roles of educators in the adoption of physical activity as a learning tool. Learn from leading neuroscientists, educators and psychologists the best practices and evidence based research to creatively incorporate physical activity into school policy, and teaching practices to enhance student’s ability to learn.

We hope you enjoy this years summit and it allows you to deepen your professional practice.

Wellness Summit: Our Revolution in Elementary PE LIMITED
Limited Capacity seats available

We will dive into Brookline Public School's exciting Physical Education curriculum and discuss how we incorporate movement into classrooms throughout the day.   We focus on "tabatas" and the many ways we provide our classroom teachers will the tools they need to successfully implement movement breaks.
We will discuss how we have changed our approach to Physical Education and how we created our Exercise Lab in grades 6-8.  In the Exercise Lab students learn how to use rowing machines, spin bikes, battle ropes, stretching techniques etc.  The ultimate goal of the Exercise Lab is to build each students knowledge so that they feel comfortable walking into any workout environment and exercise confidently.  We will discuss how we have implemented Polar H7 heart rate monitor technology and how we collaborate with classroom teachers allowing us to create an environment where students learn and move at the same time. Lastly, learn how we have successfully created student portfolios using Google Drive.  There's so much to learn, we look forward to sharing!
