Welcome to the 2015 Natick Innovation & Learning Summit and the Natick Wellness Summit!  

DATE: Monday, November 30th, 2015 from 8 AM - 3 PM at Natick High School.
Natick High School is located at 15 West St. Natick, MA 01760

This year we will host over 850 educators and hold over 130 workshop sessions that are facilitated by expert practitioners on the tools, resources and instructional practices that Natick educators have requested.  All sessions are tagged by level and target audience to help you choose the best sessions for your interest and skill level.

This year is extra special because we are joining with the Natick Wellness Summit which has been designed to nurture the interdisciplinary roles of educators in the adoption of physical activity as a learning tool. Learn from leading neuroscientists, educators and psychologists the best practices and evidence based research to creatively incorporate physical activity into school policy, and teaching practices to enhance student’s ability to learn.

Attendees and speakers should plan for lunch during session 3-L1 or 3-L2. Lunch will be available from 11 AM - 1 PM.

Wellness Summit: Is Stress Killing You? It's Killing Me! FULL

OFFERED THREE TIMES AS A REPEAT SESSION. 

Come learn strategies of how to manage the stressors in your daily life (professionally and personally).  This session will provide tried and true ways to "relax".   Karen will also provide ways to help you assist your students to appropriately manage stress in the classroom.  
Participants will be able to identify the physiological process of the stress response. 

Participants will be able to understand how the increased stress impacts the learning process. 

Participants will be able to demonstrate at least two relaxation strategies they can use to manage stress.

Participants will describe two relaxation strategies to implement with students.

Nancy Conroy is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston College. She is a certified Reiki Master/Teacher, Theta Healer and Lecturer of Reiki and Integrative Therapies. Nurse Leader, Natick Public Schools
Karen Rufo is a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, who has been working in School Nursing for the past 27 years! She also maintains a part time hospital practice at Newton Wellesley Hospital. Karen's interest's include mental health, specifically the stress response and how to manage stress.
