Welcome to the 2015 Natick Innovation & Learning Summit and the Natick Wellness Summit!  

DATE: Monday, November 30th, 2015 from 8 AM - 3 PM at Natick High School.
Natick High School is located at 15 West St. Natick, MA 01760

This year we will host over 850 educators and hold over 130 workshop sessions that are facilitated by expert practitioners on the tools, resources and instructional practices that Natick educators have requested.  All sessions are tagged by level and target audience to help you choose the best sessions for your interest and skill level.

This year is extra special because we are joining with the Natick Wellness Summit which has been designed to nurture the interdisciplinary roles of educators in the adoption of physical activity as a learning tool. Learn from leading neuroscientists, educators and psychologists the best practices and evidence based research to creatively incorporate physical activity into school policy, and teaching practices to enhance student’s ability to learn.

Attendees and speakers should plan for lunch during session 3-L1 or 3-L2. Lunch will be available from 11 AM - 1 PM.

CUEThink Beginner User Training for Teachers in Gr 4, 6 , 7, and 8 LIMITED
Limited Capacity seats available

Attending this session will give you the insider edge on what CueThink in the classroom looks like to build your students’ problem solving and math communication skills.  You will have time to experience how CueThink leverages and expands your students’ repertoire of math strategies while building their growth mindset. Included are valuable getting started tips on the student application as well as an introduction to the teacher dashboard.

Introduction and (10 minutes)

How CueThink engages students in the 8 standards for mathematical practice.
Four phases for problem solving starting with "What is noticing and wondering?"

Working sessions where you will leave with lessons and assignments ready for your classroom.

  1. Strategies and use cases supporting student success. Emphasis on UNDERSTAND and SOLVE phases. (about 20 minutes)
  2. Strategies for peer-to-peer ANNOTATIONS. (about 15 minutes)
  3. Start navigating the educator mode (about 15 minutes)
  • creating assignments
  • finding and/or creating content
  • student and class data views and management
Wrap up Q&A, take aways, next steps (10 minutes)
