Welcome to the 2015 Natick Innovation & Learning Summit and the Natick Wellness Summit!

DATE: Monday, November 30th, 2015 from 8 AM - 3 PM at Natick High School.
Natick High School is located at 15 West St. Natick, MA 01760

This year we will host over 850 educators and hold over 130 workshop sessions that are facilitated by expert practitioners on the tools, resources and instructional practices that Natick educators have requested.  All sessions are tagged by level and target audience to help you choose the best sessions for your interest and skill level.

This year is extra special because we are joining with the Natick Wellness Summit which has been designed to nurture the interdisciplinary roles of educators in the adoption of physical activity as a learning tool. Learn from leading neuroscientists, educators and psychologists the best practices and evidence based research to creatively incorporate physical activity into school policy, and teaching practices to enhance student’s ability to learn.

Young Playwrights for Change Workshop LIMITED
Limited Capacity seats available

What do you want to change about the world? This all important question is the theme of the Young Playwrights for Change competition this year.  Natick is proud to be a regional host site for this 10 minute playwriting contest open to all 6th-8th grade students.

This session will provide participants with an overview of the program, including the calendar and contest guidelines.  We will also look at exemplars of 10 minute plays, including past winners of the Young Playwrights for Change.  Participants will walk away with a toolkit of playwriting exercises for the classroom and ideas on how to integrate dramatic literature into all curriculum areas.

SPECIAL GUESTS!

We will be joined by Ernie Nolan, Vice President of TYA/USA and Adam Burke, artistic director of the Children's Theatre of Charlotte via SKYPE toward the end of our session.  Both are accomplished directors and have participated in the administration and judging of the Young Playwrights for Change initiative.

Young Playwrights for Change is a collaborative national middle school playwriting competition run by Theatre for Young Audiences/USA (TYA/USA) and the American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE).  The mission of Young Playwrights for Change is to produce meaningful conversations that will ripple across our nation to provoke change. Our goal is to spark conversation and discussion throughout classrooms, schools, and communities.
