Welcome to the 2015 Natick Innovation & Learning Summit and the Natick Wellness Summit!

DATE: Monday, November 30th, 2015 from 8 AM - 3 PM at Natick High School.
Natick High School is located at 15 West St. Natick, MA 01760

This year we will host over 850 educators and hold over 130 workshop sessions that are facilitated by expert practitioners on the tools, resources and instructional practices that Natick educators have requested.  All sessions are tagged by level and target audience to help you choose the best sessions for your interest and skill level.

This year is extra special because we are joining with the Natick Wellness Summit which has been designed to nurture the interdisciplinary roles of educators in the adoption of physical activity as a learning tool. Learn from leading neuroscientists, educators and psychologists the best practices and evidence based research to creatively incorporate physical activity into school policy, and teaching practices to enhance student’s ability to learn.

We hope you enjoy this years summit and it allows you to deepen your professional practice.

DEEP DIVE: HS Physics Teachers Chromebook Application Exploration LIMITED
Limited Capacity seats available

Deep Dive all day session for Physics teachers to explore applications on the Chrombook.

There will be two components to the physics deep dive.

First physics teachers will transition their curriculum for Physics 10 and Physics 11 to google drive. There will be an established folder that will be shared amongst the teachers of those subjects. Teachers will transition at least the units on Newton’s Laws, Gravitation, Momentum and Heat and Temperature to google drive. Teachers will also start to link the google drive files to our established Moodle sites. Lastly we will explore google apps that can be incorporated into our Moodle environment.

During the second part of the day the physics teachers will develop new modeling or design projects for the Physics 10 and 11 curriculum. The teachers will develop a design project for that will be incorporated into the Momentum unit in January. The design project will center about impulse which be incorporated into the new MA science standards. The design project will incorporate vernier force sensors or the accelerometer. If time permits we will also explore new modeling or simulations which can be incorporated into units that can be explored in the second half of the year or in the new MA physics standards.
