Welcome to the 2015 Natick Innovation & Learning Summit and the Natick Wellness Summit!

DATE: Monday, November 30th, 2015 from 8 AM - 3 PM at Natick High School.
Natick High School is located at 15 West St. Natick, MA 01760

This year we will host over 850 educators and hold over 130 workshop sessions that are facilitated by expert practitioners on the tools, resources and instructional practices that Natick educators have requested.  All sessions are tagged by level and target audience to help you choose the best sessions for your interest and skill level.

This year is extra special because we are joining with the Natick Wellness Summit which has been designed to nurture the interdisciplinary roles of educators in the adoption of physical activity as a learning tool. Learn from leading neuroscientists, educators and psychologists the best practices and evidence based research to creatively incorporate physical activity into school policy, and teaching practices to enhance student’s ability to learn.

We hope you enjoy this years summit and it allows you to deepen your professional practice.

Deep Dive: Web APPs and Resources to Motivate Students the Foreign Language Classroom LIMITED
Limited Capacity seats available

Objectives:
  1. to become familiar with some apps/sites that will assist us in the FL classroom
  2. to collaborate in teams on lessons that integrate these apps/sites (to better motivate and engage students)
  3. to assess these lessons and their units in order to move from chapter tests to performance based assessments using the ACTFL proficiency guidelines

In this session, we will review a few apps/sites that allow students to dive deeper into content, demonstrate their knowledge of concepts and engage in the learning of structures and vocabulary.  Foreign Language teachers will work in their various teams to develop lessons that integrate these apps/sites and better align lessons and units.  The final step will be to analyze the updated lessons and units to determine more authentic ways for students to communicate what they know, using the ACTFL Can-Do benchmarks and proficiency guidelines.
